“Through the portals of silence the healing sun of wisdom and peace will shine upon you.”
—Paramahansa Yogananda
The grounds of Yogoda Satsanga Sakha Math, Ranchi have been developed during the last fifty years, to become the most beautiful spiritual gardens. The spiritual vibrations left by Paramahansaji and the many divine personages who walked these holy grounds, uplift all those who enter the ashram precincts in search of tranquillity or to contemplate on God.
In these sacred meditation gardens, all places were created to be soothing and peaceful; several gazebos, nooks, and niches invite one to meditate in solitude, and plunge into the depths of one’s own Self. The flowers, shrubs, and vegetation are carefully nurtured and grown in order to preserve the pristine purity, and tranquillity of these sacred grounds. Marigolds, bougainvillea, roses, and other seasonal flowers abound in plenty.
Curved pathways, and elements of asymmetry have been incorporated into the design of the spaces, so that a certain sense of renewal impresses the mind. Several lush green lawns, including those in front of the Main Building, Dhyana Mandir, and around the Smriti Mandir subtly soothe and calm the harried minds of visitors. Modern methods of irrigation provide water to the lawns during all seasons.
There are several small and big water bodies. The ponds flush with rare varieties of lilies and multi-coloured fish pleasantly attract the attention of visitors.
